Three New Features of the 2023 Kia Niro

Three New Features of the 2023 Kia Niro

The 2023 Kia Niro is an all-new generation of the eco-friendly compact crossover from Kia and it comes with a number of new features, three of which are explained here.

More electric range for the Niro PHEV

The Plug-in hybrid version of the 2023 Kia Niro benefits from 53 kilometres of all-electric range, which is 25% more than the 2022 model. This is possible despite an increase in the size of the electric motor, which now brings the total power output of the Niro PHEV to 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque instead of 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. This makes the 2023 Niro PHEV more fun to drive while at the same time making it more efficient. The extended electric range also means that most drivers will be able to complete their entire daily commute without using the gasoline engine.

More interior space

The 2023 Kia Niro is slightly larger than the previous model on the outside, but this translates to an impressive increase in interior capacity. This makes the new Niro more comfortable for everyone onboard, especially in the rear, where the legroom is more generous than in any other compact crossover offered in Canada. Another benefit of the increased interior volume is the large cargo compartment, which is also class-leading. With an additional 11 litres of space behind the rear seats over the 2022 model, the new Niro is even more practical than before, especially for families and for people who often need to transport large amounts of cargo.

More technologies than ever

The 2023 Kia Niro incorporates many new technologies that were not found in the previous generation, such as the available twin 10.25-inch panoramic screens. Similar to the ones found on the new EV6, this arrangement gives a very modern look to the interior while also making it easier for the driver to access all of the information that is needed when driving. In terms of safety, improvements have been made to many technologies, notably the forward collision alert, which now features junction turning support.
