2024 Kia Seltos: A Dynamic Upgrade on Safety and Performance

The 2024 Kia Seltos has raised the bar in the compact SUV market, offering consumers a sleek and secure vehicle option with a range of safety and performance features. Its revamped exterior and futuristic cabin, crowned by a standard panoramic display, are built to accommodate those who appreciate a dynamic lifestyle. The vehicle comes with two powertrain options, including a 195-hp turbocharged engine, and introduces the new X-Line trim to inject vivacity into every journey.

The remarkable redesign isn't limited to the aesthetics, as the latest Seltos model comes equipped with an impressive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Among the updated safety features, the Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) is noteworthy for its ability to detect oncoming vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists under certain conditions, potentially applying the brakes to avert or mitigate a collision.

Further enhancing safety, the 2024 Seltos introduces Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW), a feature that issues audible and visual warnings if it detects a vehicle in the blind spot when the turn signal is activated. Another standout addition, the Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA) and Intelligent Speed Limit Warning (ISLW), can discern the maximum speed limit on some roads, alert the driver, and possibly limit the car's speed based on preset parameters.

Moreover, standard ADAS features like Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Rear View Monitor (RVM), and Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) round out the Seltos' robust safety package. The Seltos S and higher trims include Safe Exit Warning (SEW) and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA). Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go (SCC), Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC, Curve), and Highway Driving Assist (HDA) are exclusively available on the SX trim.

Eric Watson, vice president of sales operations for Kia America, predicts a positive response to the redesigned model, stating, "With its head-turning style, elevated tech and performance, the 2024 Seltos is poised to continue being a hit." Given the Seltos' year-to-date sales, which have seen a 25 percent increase, Watson's optimism seems well-placed as the refreshed Seltos just arrived in dealerships.
